Pastor Bill was born in Chicago and grew up on the South Side near Marquette Park.  He came to know Christ as his Savior at the age of 9 and was called to preach at 13.  He received his B.A. in Bible at Bob Jones University in 1953.  Twenty years later he received his D.D. from his alma mater.  He studied at Northern Baptist Seminary in Chicago.  Currently he is finishing his masters in Pastoral Counseling.  December 4th, 2007 Pastor Bill celebrated 54 years in the ministry.
     On March 6, 1954 he married Katherine Updike in her home state of Virginia.  The Schroeders have 3 children, 11 grand children, and 2 great grand children.  They are currently living in Naperville, IL.
     Pastor Bill has always had a heart for ministry, caring about the souls of men and women, and boys and girls.  He ministered for 30 years at Oak Forest Baptist Temple/Oak Forest Christian Academy.  Over 100 young men and women are serving the Lord somewhere in the world because of Pastor Bill's influence on their lives.
